IWLA-WAC former Board member and PWRC member Cherie Aker initiated the “Girls and Guns” event to give women the confidence to learn to shoot guns safely in a female-friendly environment.

Each woman will receive individual instruction from a certified range officer. Guns, ammo and targets are provided free to participants. One PWRC member who attended two sessions called the event “transforming.”

PWRC member Kathy Gugulis, who helps coordinate Republican Women’s Club attendance, said that the number of participants has grown each year, with many repeat members.  “It’s a great way to learn gun safety basics and practice shooting in a very safe environment, while making new friends,” she said.  “Stay tuned for signup information as we get closer to the dates.”
